Poultry body rejects 'promulgation' of Covid in chicken

Daniel Pearl Murder Case: Criminal Investigation Order






The Sindh High Court has ordered the acquittal of three journalists in the murder case of US journalist Daniel Pearl.

According to the details, a two-member bench of the Sindh High Court has passed the verdict today after 18 years on the appeals of four criminals.

The court acquitted all three accused in the murder case of American journalist Daniel Pearl, besides Ahmed Amar Sheikh, while the Sindh High Court changed Ahmed Umar Sheikh's death sentence to seven years in prison.

During the hearing, the court said that the charge of Ahmed Omar Sheikh Pragya was proved, however, that the murder of Daniel Pearl did not prove on any of the accused, who was acquitted by the other three accused.

It is clear that American journalist Daniel Pearl was murdered in Karachi in 2002 after which he was kidnapped in Karachi. Later, a British citizen suspected of involvement in the murder was sentenced to death by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), while the suspects were Fahdism. , Syed Salman Saqib and Shaikh Mohammed Adal were sentenced to life imprisonment. The sentences were sent to the accused on July 15, 2002.

However, the case was adjourned for 10 years due to the absence of criminal lawyers.

The lawyer for the perpetrators argued in the court that the police could not produce concrete evidence in the trial against the culprits, while all the witnesses in the case were policemen.

A two-member bench of the Sindh High Court had reserved the verdict of the case after hearing the final arguments on March 6.

A petition was also filed by the prosecution to increase the conviction of the culprits.
